In a Sunday statement, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Bahram Ghasemi condoled with the Syrian nation and government and the families of those killed and wounded in the ISIS car bombing in a refugee camp in Syria’s Deir Ezzor.
The Saturday bombing targeted the largest refugee gathering in the region, according to Sana. The terrorist reportedly rammed a booby-trapped car nto the crowd before it blew up.
The attack on civilians comes just a day after the Syrian army announced that it had liberated Deir Ezzor from ISIS terrorists.
Ghasemi went on to add, "such inhumane and brutal acts by the ISIS terrorist group are clear indication of the group’s frustration and defeat."
He further stressed that the end of ISIS is near thanks to the resistance and unity of the Syrian nation and government.
